Israeli Forces uncover tunnel with kitchen, bathroom under Gaza hospital

A bathroom, kitchen, and an air-conditioned meeting room.

These were among the amenities found by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in a tunnel adjacent to the Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza.

According to the IDF, the tunnel’s entrance has a height of around 2 meters or 6 and a half feet and can be accessed through an outdoor shaft within the hospital complex grounds.

Al Shifa Hospital, the largest medical complex in Gaza, has become a center of accusations of war crimes from Israel and Hamas.

Israel has accused Hamas of using the Al Shifa Hospital as its central command and control center, but Hamas and hospital officials strongly deny these claims.

On the other hand, Palestinians are claiming that Israeli Forces are targeting hospitals and contending that these hospital sites are used to shelter armed fighters.

And recently, the IDF arrested several Al Shifa medical personnel including the hospital’s director, Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya, as reported by the Israeli Broadcasting Authority.

Meanwhile, Israeli authorities believe that there might be another exit from the underground tunnel that they have yet to open and that they are confident that it leads to the city and is connected to another opening in a kindergarten located in Gaza.
