DOMESTIC Japanese company Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) is planning to launch generative artificial intelligence (AI) services within this year.
NTT’s plan for 2023 is set to end by March next year.
The said company seeks to have its generative AI services used for corporate purposes, particularly in financial and medical fields.
Free large-scale language models are the basic application offer by generative AI, which other Japanese developing companies are also planning to do the same.
But to note, NTT’s aim is for its Generative AI to be different from other developing AI companies. Meanwhile, it is also expected to reduce power consumption and operating costs while focusing its learning on highly specialized fields.
As of now, NTT is developing a base language model, whose parameters, is expected to reach to 7 billion to 30 billion.
