CAMP GEN. SIMEON A. OLA, Legazpi City—On January 18, 2025, the 9th Civil-Military Operations Battalion welcomed seven newly assigned personnel with traditional reception rites that reflected the unit’s rich heritage and camaraderie.
The new recruits engaged in a series of demanding activities, such as a road run, four military exercise stations, and the ceremonial drinking of “Kaagapay Wine,” symbolizing their loyalty to the unit. The festivities culminated in a boodle fight meal, where officers and enlisted personnel came together to celebrate.
Lt. Col. Emerson Ian Borja, the Battalion Commander, emphasized the importance of these reception rites in promoting unity and pride among soldiers. “Welcoming these seven individuals is more than just tradition; it represents the unity and camaraderie that characterize our battalion. These rites reaffirm our dedication to excellence and professionalism,” he stated.
The Kaagapay Battalion remains committed to upholding the traditions of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) while fostering strong bonds within the unit, ensuring every member feels a shared sense of belonging and purpose.
