NANANAWAGAN ang kampo ni Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnolfo Teves sa lahat na maghinay-hinay sa pananalita at pagdawit sa kanya sa pagkamatay ni Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
Sa isang pahayag ni Atty. Ferdie Topacio, abogado ni Teves na ang pagkamatay ng gobernador ay nauna nang kinondena ng mambabatas.
At maigagawad lamang ang hustisya sa pamilya ng Degamo kung mapapanagot sa batas ang mga tunay na nasa likod ng pagpaslang.
Saad din ni Topacio na may presumption of innocence ang kanyang kliyente.
“The killing has already been denounced strongly by Rep. Teves, who has denied involvement therein. It will not serve the ends of justice any by publicly obfuscating the issues prematurely before a thorough investigation in accordance with procedures provided for by law. Verily, justice can only be done to the victims if and when the real perpetrators are brought before the bar of justice and convicted with finality. In the meantime, all must be mindful of the fact that our Supreme Court itself has already said that accusation is not synonymous with guilt, and the Constitution guarantees to every person the presumption of innocence,” saad ni Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, Legal Counsel ni Cong. Teves.
Sa huli, tiniyak ng kampo ni Teves na haharapin nila ang lahat ng akusasyon sa Degamo slay case.
Sa pinakahuling video post ni Cong. Teves sa kanyang official FB page ay sinabi nito na siya ay nasa abroad para magpagamot.
