PORMAL nang nagbukas nitong Mayo 28, 2023, ang operasyon ng pinakabagong pantalan sa probinsya ng Cebu, ang Pier 88 na tinaguriang Smart Port dahil sa automated ticketing system nito, green building at iba pang makabagong amenities.
Malaking tulong din ang naturang pantalan para sa dagdag connectivity sa iba’t ibang destinasyon sa Cebu, tulad ng Camotes Island, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu City at iba pa.
Ayon kay 5th District Congressman Duke Frasco, malaki ang maitutulong ng bagong pantalan para maibsan ang trapiko sa lungsod ng Consolacion at siyudad ng Mandaue.
“The port help decongest the traffic in Cebu particularly in Consolacion and Mandaue City by providing an alternative mode of transport using the topline sea bus. Most importantly, it will improve the quality of life taking hours of lives of thousands of Cebuanos by significantly cutting the travel time of the riding public who commute daily, to and from their respective work places in Cebu,” saad ni Congressman Duke Frasco, Representative Cebu, 5th District.
Ang 3 ektaryang pantalan ay 3-phase port project kasama na rito ang commercial development.
Ayon naman kay Eugene Erik Lim, President at CEO ng Topline Group of Companies, bukod sa automated ticketing system at green building nito, lalagayan din ito ng food station.
“To add to that, we have a mixed used development, we will be incorporating this promenade we are calling it food station. Where we are here right now will be redeveloping it as a promenade, so basically we will different stalls and other tenants. Of course, we are calling it food station because it has a very spectacular view of the port and scenery here,” ani Eugene Erik Lim, President & CEO – Topline Group of Companies.
Samantala, personal namang dinaluhan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. ang pagpapasinaya sa naturang pantalan nitong nakaraang Sabado.
Kasama si Vice President Sara Duterte, Executive Secretary Antonio Lagdameo, Speaker Martin Romualdez, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia at iba pang mga opisyales ng mga national government agencies at mga lokal na pamahalaan ng Cebu.
Ang naturang pantalan ay bahagi ng public-private partnership ng pamahalaan sa Topline Group of Companies kaagapay ng Pier 88 Ventures, Inc.
