DEPARTMENT of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco expressed her heartfelt appreciation for Antique’s dedicated tourism frontliners during her recent visit for the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the new Tourist Rest Area in San Remigio, Antique.
At the event, Secretary Frasco led the distribution of essential kits to 43 tour guides from the province, who play a pivotal role in enhancing the tourism experience in Antique.
“Our tour guides are the face of Philippine tourism. They are the voice that carry the stories of our people. And in many instances, or in every instance, they are the reason why tourists keep coming back to our country. And so, the distribution of tour guide kits today is our way of saying ‘thank you’,” Secretary Frasco shared.
The kits, tailored to the daily needs of Antique’s tour guides, included sunblock, sunglasses, a fedora hat, a lapel microphone, a journal, a ballpen, and a tumbler—practical items designed to support their important work.
Additionally, each accredited tour guide received personal accident insurance coverage worth Php50,000. This insurance was provided at Secretary Frasco’s personal expense as a special gesture to demonstrate her immense appreciation for the dedication of the country’s tourism frontliners, further underscoring her commitment to their welfare.
