Department of Interior and Local Government or DILG has announced that low-risk areas will keep their community quarantine status.
This was clarified by DILG Secretary Eduardo Año during a press briefing on Wednesday.
Año is taking back what was announced by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) based on Resolution No. 35 that removes low-risk areas from quarantine.
the areas include 8 regions, 37 provinces, 11 cities, and BARMM.
Año explained that amendments were made on the resolution after local chief executives, governors, and mayors requested to retain their status saying that they’re not yet ready for the lifting of the community quarantine amid threat of the deadly coronavirus.
