Madrasah Education Program strengthens cultural inclusivity in Aklan

EDUCATION Secretary Sonny Angara recently visited Balabag Elementary School to witness the implementation of the Madrasah Education Program (MEP), which aims to provide inclusive education for Muslim learners.

MEP is a comprehensive program integrating Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) into public and private schools, ensuring that Muslim culture, traditions, and interests are preserved within the basic education curriculum.

Angara affirmed the program’s significance, stating,

“The promise of the Madrasah Education Program is simple: Wherever you are in the country, you should not feel far away from your culture and heritage. I’m glad that we are seeing this come to life in Aklan,” Education Secretary Sonny Angara said.
