Maisug Rally in Davao del Norte may have led to Gov. Jubahib’s ouster from office

Maisug Rally in Davao del Norte may have led to Gov. Jubahib’s ouster from office

THE removal of Davao del Norte Gov. Edwin Jubahib did not go through due process.

This is what the governor is displeased about after saying that he should have been investigated for the charges against him before being removed from office.

Governor Jubahib believes that his approval of the Maisug Rally has played a major role in the sudden rise in tension or opposition against him from the Marcos administration.

“This includes this—there’s a huge involvement due to the upcoming Maisug Rally on April 14— because of this, suddenly, they are scrutinizing me, this is really the reason— because I allowed the Maisug Rally to be held here. So, there is nothing— We have a Constitution— and we know that no one can stop the people if they want something to convey to their fellowmen, especially to public servants,” according to Gov. Edwin Jubahib, Davao del Norte.

In fact, the newly appointed governor of the Marcos administration, Vice Gov. Oyo Uy, as the replacement of Jubahib, immediately ordered the halt of the rallies to be held in Davao del Norte.

“It didn’t come to their minds that the people would be angrier tonight. I received reports from PNP Davao del Norte that the acting governor they installed, Vice Gov. Oyo Uy, ordered the PNP to disperse the rallies here in Davao del Norte. He ordered not to allow it,” Jubahib added.

Newly-appointed Davao del Norte Governor involved in aid scam—Gov. Jubahib

Gov. Jubahib also believes that his revelation of the aid scam also contributed to his removal from office.

“I don’t regret standing as an elected official and what they installed is also one of those investigated— this right-hand man of his is the one getting the money.”

“You know they were talking to me when I exposed this problem but I didn’t face them, even their staff invited me, Anton Lagdameo’s staff even invited me after I exposed this aid scam so I think this is the reason why SAP is angry with me,” Jubahib stated.

Jubahib also wants to investigate those behind the distribution of money because many of his constituents were deceived. In fact, some have died after not receiving aid from the government.

“So, we should investigate who is behind this because the money being given away is from the Tingog party-list, they [plaster] their big faces on it.”

“Their faces are on it, like a wall of a building, the faces of Cong. Yedda [Romualdez], Speaker Martin Romualdez, Pres. Marcos and the local officials, their tandem who were politically elected in Davao del Norte,” Jubahib added.

Despite the challenges he is facing the governor still calls on the people to be vigilant and not let the country’s gains during the time of former President Duterte go to waste.

“As the governor of Davao del Norte, we should be vigilant and observant of what is happening in the country now. Let’s not allow the gains of the country during the time of Former Pres. Duterte to be lost, let’s work together so that the economy of the country will not collapse, and that our children and the people of the Philippines, remain safe,” Jubahib stressed.
