THE Malacañang acknowledged the decision of the National Telecommunication Commission (NTC) to issue a Cease and Desist Order against ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation for lack of a valid legislative franchise.
According to Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque, the giant network has the freedom to exhaust all legal remedies available to it.
Roque reiterated President Rodrigo Duterte’s acceptance to the network’s apology and entrusted it’s fate to both houses of the Congress.
Roque made it clear to the public that the broadcast franchise was within the authority of Congress.
The Palace also commends the service of the Kapamilya Network to the Filipino nation and people, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
But Roque emphasized that the absence of the legislative franchise, ABS-CBN’s continued operation is entire with the NTC’s decision.
