Paliwanag ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, ang impeachment complaint laban kay VP Sara ay reklamo ng nga pribadong indibidwal kung saan ang may mandato sa pagtugon ay ang House of Representatives.
Sa Senado, pinaiiwas ng liderato ang mga senador na magbigay ng kanilang komento kaugnay sa nilalaman ng impeachment complaint.
Sakali kasing lumusot o aprubahan ng Kamara ang impeachment process sa pamamagitan ng 1/3 na boto ng mga mambabatas doon ay tatalakayin na ito sa Senado na magsisilbing impeachment court batay sa Konstitusyon.
Paalala ni Escudero sa mga senador na bilang judge sa impeachment proceedings ay dapat ‘di makitaan ng pagiging bias ang mga senador.
Posible kasi na mawalan ng tiwala ang taumbayan sa Senado bilang isang institusyon dahil dito.
“I reiterate my call to my colleagues in the Senate to refrain from making any public comments or statements regarding the allegations in the complaint’s articles of impeachment. Should the Senate be called upon to act as an impeachment court, any perception of bias or pre-judgment would undermine not only the integrity of the impeachment trial but also the public’s trust in the Senate as an institution,” ayon kay Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero, Senate President.
Habang gumugulong na ang impeachment proceedings sa Senado ay bawal na rin interbyuhin ang mga senador sa media.
Batay naman sa kasaysayan ay nasa apat na mataas na opisyal ng gobyerno ang napatalsik ng Kamara.
Kabilang dito si Former President Joseph Estrada, Dating Ombudsman Merciditas Gutierrez, Dating Chief Justice Renato Corona, at Dating COMELEC Chairman Andres Garcia.
Tanging kay Corona naman nakumpleto ang impeachment process.
‘Di natapos ang kay Estrada dahil sa pag-walk out ng House private prosecutors, habang si Gutierrez at Bautista naman ay nagbitiw sa puwesto bago pa man nag-convene ang Senado bilang impeachment court.
