MALAYSIA government are willing to revive the Kuala Lumpur Singapore High-Speed Rail (HSR) project as long as they are not bearing the cost.
According to Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim mentioned earlier that they are open to any proposals regarding on reviving the HSR project.
However, there are no definite proposals yet.
There is also no timeline as the bilateral agreement with Singapore was discontinued by the previous government.
Malaysia and Singapore signed a bilateral agreement back in 2016 for the 350km rail project, but it was cancelled on January 1, 2021 by the former administration.
It was supposed to be completed in 2026 and shorten travel time between Kuala Lumpur and the Island Republic to just 90 minutes.
Last month, Singapore announced that they are willing to consider proposals from Malaysia to revive the HSR project.
