MALAYSIAN authorities ramped up efforts to contain rising cases of cheap fuel smuggled to Thailand.
Malaysian authorities have been making efforts to deter smuggling oil to Thailand, with authorities stating that the cheap fuel should benefit its citizens and not smugglers.
Malaysian officials plan to install CCTV cameras at some petrol stations near Thailand as part of a crackdown against fuel smuggling.
At least 48 petrol stations within 50 kilometers of the border were investigated by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living in Malaysia’s Kelantan state.
The findings were submitted to the ministry’s headquarters in Putrajaya.
