Malaysian King, Saudi Crown Prince meet at National Palace

THE Malaysia King granted an audience to the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi at the National Palace on Tuesday.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and also its Executive Council Chairman, Sheikh Khaled Mohamed Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived at 11:30 am at National Palace to talk with Yang Di Pertuan Agong Al Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al Mustafa Billah Shah for 30 minutes.

On face to face session, His Majesty was pleased to bestow the Darjah Seri Maharaja Mangku Negara or SMN.

SMN is the honourable degree of the first rank of the national crown. This honour is limited only to 25 people. The holder of this degree carries the title Tun, and the wife of the holder is titled Toh Puan.

Sheikh Khaled was also bestowed with the Sri Indera Mahkota Pahang’s very respected degree, which is usually bestowed to the son of a King, the king of the government, or the head of a foreign country.

The King of Malaysia and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi also held a naming ceremony for two hybrid orchid species, the ‘Papilionanda Sheikh Mohamed’ and ‘Dendrobium Sheikha Fatima’.

The yellow-white’ Sheikh Mohamed’s papillionanda’ symbolizes the extraordinarily good relationship between his majesty and the president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed Zayed Al Nahyan, who is the father of His Royal Highness Sheikh Khaled.

For the Royal White, ‘Dendrobium Sheikha Fatima’ is named after the name of his Holiness Sheikh Khaled.

His Excellency, Sheikh Khaled’s special visit to Malaysia, is expected to strengthen further the long-standing good relationship between Malaysia and UAE which was upgraded to a strategic partnership on September 27, 2022.
