ENGR. Louana C. Acosta, head of the Domestic Shipping Section, represents the MARINA Regional Office X in the launch of Task Force Ingat Yaman Dagat, an initiative by the PCG Northern Mindanao Marine Environment Protection Command (MEPCOM) held in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental on 24 May 2024.
The Task Force Ingat Yaman Dagat aims to enhance coastal water protection through the Safe Boating Program – Smart Sailor. As one of the presenters, Engr. Acosta provided an overview of MARINA’s mandates, including the registration and licensing of vessels and seafarers. Engr. Acosta, likewise announced the forthcoming 3-Day One-Stop-Shop Safety Caravan, which will serve the entire region.
This event highlights MARINA’s support to the advocacy of Marine Environmental Protection Enforcement Response Group in Northern Mindanao, in promoting safety of life at sea and protecting the marine environment.
Attended by officials and representatives from local government units, boat operators, fisherfolk, and students from Tagoloan Community College, among others.
