MARSLEC inaugurates new Coast Guard Sea Marshal Force office

THE Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) inaugurated the new Headquarters Coast Guard Sea Marshal Force (CGSMF) office located in Pasay City yesterday, 11 December 2024.

According to MARSLEC, CGSMF was formed with the task to deploy marshals aboard merchant passenger ships at sea to protect, escort, and maintain the security of the crew, passengers, and vessels.

With the inauguration of its new Headquarters and with Commander Carlos Victor Carlos PCG at its helm, CGSMF is expected to boost its operational capabilities and readiness, and continuously deliver a quality public service as frontline maritime service providers.

The Sea Marshal Basic Operations Course (SMBOC) Class 07 – 2024 with 57 Coast Guardians also graduated on the same day to boost CGSMF’s capabilities.

“We all know that the duties of a Sea Marshal are complex and demanding, requiring vigilance, sound judgement, and an unyielding commitment to excellence. As a guardian of our maritime nation, you have in your shoulders the responsibilities to safeguard lives of passengers, protect vital assets, and contribute to the stability of maritime trade,” Vice Admiral Robert Patrimonio PCG expressed.
