INIHAYAG ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na sumasalamin sa pagbubukas ng maraming activities ang pagtaas ng Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ng bansa.
Sa isang video message, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na ang pagbaba rin ng unemployment rate ay nangangahulugan na marami na ring economic activities, na nagdala sa mataas na GDP.
Inilahad pa ng Punong Ehekutibo na ang 7.6% GDP ay mas mataas kumpara sa pagtatantya ng gobyerno.
“That’s a very good news for us. It is actually a little higher than our estimates of 6.5 to 7.5 for the last quarter. That makes sense too because the last piece of news we heard was the lowering of the unemployment rate and so that means that there’s more economic activity and this is reflected now in the growth,” ang pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Bukod dito, ikinatuwa rin ni Pangulong Marcos na mayroon ding naitalang 2.2 percent na paglago sa sektor ng agrikultura.
Sa naitala ring datos, binigyang-diin ni Pangulong Marcos na nagsimula nang gumawa ng mga tamang hakbangin ang pamahalaan at dinadala sa tamang direksyon ang ekonomiya ng bansa.
“But we have a mix of interventions and non intervention actions to alleviate the problems that we feel in the economy. So we feel with those figures, with the lowering of the unemployment rate, the very high growth rate that we at least we are headed in the right direction,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.
Samantala, iginiit ng Pangulo na ‘very conscious’ ang pamahalaan sa inflation rate dahil sumasalamin ito sa ‘cost of living’ ng mga ordinaryong tao.
