Mayor Inday asks 3 hospitals to accept COVID-19 patients

DAVAO City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte said she has asked three hospitals to accept for treatment individuals positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Mayor Inday said she sent letters to the management of the said hospitals and that they are to sit down for a meeting with the city government, to be represented by City Administrator Zuleika Lopez.

“Nag padala na ta og letter sa ilaha ug naka set napud sila nga makig storya sa atoang City administrator,” she said. Mayor Inday said.

She said tapping the three hospitals, which she did not identify, is necessary for preparation for the lifting of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the city.

“Isa ni siya sa mga lakang nga atoang ginabuhat in preparation sa lifting sa ECQ before ta mag General Community Quarantine, she said.

Aside from the three hospitals that are currently in talks with the city, Mayor Inday also asked barangay officials to identify a Covid center, where individuals suspected of being afflicted with the COVID-19 can be accommodated.

“Giingnan na nako ang mga barangay nga mag identify sila og center pero dili nila pwede gamiton ang mga public schools as center nila,” she said.

Mayor Inday said the city government is also continuously pushing for the accreditation of four more COVID-19 testing laboratories – at Davao Doctors Hospital, the Department of Health-owned laboratory, the city-owned laboratory, and a privately owned laboratory. CIO
