AN Indonesian woman whose mysterious disappearance prompted a whole village to search for her turned out to be swallowed alive by a 16-foot python.
The husband of 45-year-old Farida could not believe his eyes when he saw his missing wife’s head coming out from the belly of the giant reptile after it was cut in half.
Days before the gruesome discovery, he was hoping for the best, when residents in Kalempang village in South Sulawesi province helped him search for his missing wife.
A search effort was launched after the mother-of-four failed to return home one night.
Her husband found his belongings which convinced residents to search the area where they spotted a reticulated python with a large belly.
The villagers agreed to cut the reptile’s stomach to confirm their suspicions.
Lo and behold, they found Farida’s head immediately visible and still fully clothed inside the snake’s belly.
It was obvious she was swallowed whole and the reason why she never made it home.
Farida became the fifth person to be devoured by a python in Indonesia since 2017.
