Montobello, California suffers strongest tornado since 1983

A city in California was devastated by one of the strongest tornadoes in decades.

The national weather service reported that an EF-1 tornado hit the city of Montebello in California on Wednesday.

According to the government agency, the tornado had estimated peak winds of 110 mph which is the strongest tornado to hit the Los Angeles area since 1983.

Netizens on social media also shared videos of the said weather event.

The said disaster injured one person and damaged at least 17 buildings in the area.

It can be noted that the tornado which hit Montebello is the second to hit Southern California in two days.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, a weaker, EF0 tornado was reported in the city of Santa Barbara.
