Moscow issues warrant of arrest for U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham

ON Monday, the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy published an edited video of Zelenskyy and United States Senator Lindsey Graham’s meeting at the Mariinskyi Palace on Friday, May 26th, 2023.

This marks the U.S. Senator’s third visit to Ukraine where he continued to show support to the war-torn country’s defense capabilities against Russia.

During the meeting, Graham was reported to have made comments which prompted Russia’s interior ministry to issue a warrant of arrest for the U.S. Senator.

In the video, President Zelenskyy can be heard thanking the American senator for the United States’ support to his country, while Graham can be heard uttering the words “Russians are dying” and that it was the best money the latter’s country had ever spent.

In response to Russia issuing the warrant of arrest, Graham posted on his Twitter account provocative statements saying,

“To know that my commitment to Ukraine has drawn the ire of Putin’s regime brings me immense joy. I will continue to stand with and for Ukraine’s freedom until every Russian soldier is expelled from Ukrainian territory.”

In another post, Graham also tweeted,

“I will wear the arrest warrant issued by Putin’s corrupt and immoral government as a badge of honor.”

To recall, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham visited Ukraine in December 2016 together with late U.S. Senator John McCain.

The pair spoke with Ukrainian troops saying that Ukraine’s fight is the United States’ fight.

During that visit, late U.S. Senator John McCain also spoke with the Ukrainian troops promising them that the United States will do everything to provide them with what they need to win against Russia.

Meanwhile, it can be noted that both Graham and McCain are among more than 200 Americans whom Moscow banned last year from entering Russia despite of the latter having passed away in 2018.
