NATO needs additional 350,000 troops, more weapons

NATO’s new defense plans require an additional 35 to 50 brigades, which equates to an estimated 350,000 soldiers.

A military source claimed the defense plans were designed in the event of an unexpected attack from Russia.

Germany’s Ministry of Defense declined to comment on NATO’s future. military plans as they are considered classified information.

It is not yet clear where NATO will get the additional troops.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has been appointed as the next Secretary General of NATO in June.

Rutte will replace the incumbent Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg whose term will expire on October 1st after leading the bloc for the past ten years.

Meanwhile, heads of state prepare to meet for the NATO summit in Washington D.C. today that will run from the 9th until the 11th of July.
