COVID-19 has now infected at least 984 Filipinos in 42 countries around the world.
According to data from the Department of Foreign Affairs, 585 of these were treated continuously at various hospitals.
Meanwhile, 259 have been recovered or released from the hospital and at least 140 have died.
Europe still has the highest reported confirmed COVID-19 positive OFWs with 350 cases.
It is followed by the Asia Pacific with 274 while America had 207 cases, and in the Middle East and Africa, the region reached 153 confirmed cases.
In related news, the total number of repatriated distressed Filipino workers who are affected on COVID-19 pandemic has reached to almost 17, 000.
Last night, more than 200 distressed OFWs affected by COVID-19 have returned to the country.
It is still in line with repatriation efforts made by the government in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.
The repatriates are land-based workers whose jobs were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Their respective employers paid for their plane fare to Manila.
