ONLY criminals, drug addicts, and their sympathizers call Rody Duterte a criminal.

Having witnessed firsthand how this old man worked tirelessly to bring the culture of safety and security to my community, I refuse to call him a criminal.

How can a man be called a criminal when his so-called crimes were committed against criminals?

To those celebrating his unlawful ICC arrest, I sincerely hope that you and your loved ones never become victims of the very crimes he fought against.

With drug addicts once again roaming our streets, I pray that none of your family members fall into addiction. I also hope that neither you nor your loved ones ever experience sexual violence, theft, or harm caused by unchecked criminal activity.

Sure! You sympathize with Kian delos Santos and others you consider innocent casualties of the war on drugs. But the fact is, in Kian’s case for example, the three policemen involved were found guilty of murder and sentenced to reclusion perpetua. However, they were acquitted of planting evidence and firearms.

What does this mean? This proves that our domestic courts are functioning.

They recognize crimes brought before them and issue rulings accordingly. While not perfect, our judiciary is willing and capable of prosecuting crimes.

Under the principle of complementarity, the ICC can only intervene if a nation is unwilling or unable to prosecute crimes. Given that our courts have proven their ability to try and convict offenders (ie: Kian’s case), the aforementioned requirement is not met, meaning the ICC has no valid jurisdiction.

So why celebrate an ICC investigation that has no legal basis?

You cry foul over the West Philippine Sea issue, yet you cheer when a former president is arrested by a foreign entity—which an equally serious matter of sovereignty.

You are misguided.

But what can we expect when criminals, drug addicts, and their sympathizers unite?

As chief executive and commander-in-chief, Duterte had the authority to launch the War on Drugs as an executive initiative under his leadership.

He was the only president willing to become the evil so that we could walk the streets without fear.

Remember that all policies are created with the intention of proper implementation. If problems arise, the responsibility falls on law enforcement, not the policy itself. Kaya nga may mga police tayong kinasuhan, dinismiss sa kanilang pwesto, at pinakulong.

So why condemn a president who fought to protect his country from crime, criminals, and corruption?

Hanggang dulo, DUTERTE pa rin.
