AT least 5,500 runners participate in the 1st Mayor Rodrigo Duterte Run on Sunday morning, July 6, 2025.
Participants of all ages and backgrounds ran in categories ranging from 1K to 21K.
The event was organized by the On Any Sunday Rider Club and Orango Tribe, and was joined by Councilor Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, who shared a stirring message on behalf of Vice Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte.
“Gipaabot sa akong tiyo nga si Vice Mayor Baste Duterte ang among dakong pasalamat sa inyong tanan nga miapil ug misuporta sa 1st Mayor Rodrigo Duterte Run. Sa ngalan sa among pamilya ug sa among lolo nga si former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte — daghang salamat sa inyong padayon nga gugma ug pagsalig,” Rigo told the crowd.
“This run is more than just a race — it’s a symbol of unity and our love for Davao. Sa inyong pag-apil, gipakita ninyo nga buhi gihapon ang legacy ni Tatay Digong. Hangyo lang ko, padayon ta sa panawagan—Bring Tatay Digong back home. Dili lang ni para sa amo, kundi para sa tibuok katawhan,” the acting vice mayor added.
