P12-M cash incentives, naghihintay sa Asean Para Games medalists

HALOS P12-M halaga ng cash incentives ang ipamimigay ng gobyerno sa 11th Asean Para Games (APG) medalists na isinagawa sa Solo, Indonesia noong Hulyo 30 hanggang Agosto 6.

Ito’y sa pamamagitan ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) at ng Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).

Walumpung Pinoy para-athletes ang nag-uwi ng medalya sa katatapos lamang na Asean para Games kung saan nasa kabuuang 104 medalya ang napanalunan ng mga ito.

Kabilang dito ang 28 gold, 30 silver, at 46 bronze mula sa mga larong archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, chess, judo, powerlifting, swimming, at table tennis.

Sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 10699 o ang Expanded National Athletes and Coaches Incentives and Benefits Act makatatanggap ang gold medalist ng P150,000; silver medalist ng P75,000; habang P30,000 naman para sa bronze medalist.

“Our para-athletes showcased their grit and hunger for success in the APG. The support of the Filipino people provided through the PSC are truly reciprocated,” pahayag ni PSC Officer-in-Charge at Executive Director Guillermo Iroy, Jr.

Makatatanggap si FIDE Master Sander Severino, national para chess team, ng P500K matapos mag-uwi ng apat na gold at dalawang silver sa individual at team categories.

Aabot naman sa P450K bawat isa ang matatanggap nina para swimmers Angel Otom at Ariel Joseph Alegarbes para sa kanilang tatlong gold medals.

Ang paralympian na si Ernie Gawilan ay makatatanggap ng P382,500 para sa dalawang gold medal, isang silver, at isang bronze.

“We hope that this reward will give them an extra morale boost to keep reaching for their dreams. We thank all our national para-athletes for all their sacrifices and taking pride in raising our flag here and their coming competitions,” ani Iroy.
