ON Labor Day, Kabayan Party-list Representative Ron Salo reiterated his call for equal pay in the private sector in all regions of the country.
According to Salo, vice-chairman of the House Committee on Public Accountability, implementing the P600 minimum wage rate in all regions of the country is key to implementing the administration’s Balik Probinsya Program.
The congressman proposes to include workers in the National Capital Region on a uniform minimum wage.
Salo said the wage inequality in the private sector has prompted provincial workers to venture into the NCR due to poverty.
The congressman has now filed a proposal to set a P600 minimum wage.
