THE Philippine Air Force (PAF) held a blessing ceremony for five newly acquired S-70i Black Hawk helicopters on December 17, 2024, at Haribon Hangar, Clark Air Base, Pampanga. The event was presided over by MGEN RAMIL G OLOROSO PAF, Commander of the Air Mobility Command.
These helicopters, delivered on December 9, 2024, are part of the 32 units of S-70i Black Hawk helicopters acquired through a direct contract with Poland’s PZL Mielec under the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Modernization Program. The first batch of five helicopters arrived on June 10, 2024.
Both the first and second batches underwent rigorous Technical Inspection and Acceptance (TIA) procedures conducted by the Department of National Defense (DND), AFP, and PAF to ensure all units meet the required standards and specifications.
With the addition of these versatile helicopters, the PAF is poised to further elevate its operational capabilities, providing critical support for humanitarian assistance, disaster response, and other missions essential to national security and development.
