TINIYAK ni Tourism Secretary–designate Christina Frasco na magiging inclusive ang kaniyang pamumuno sa turismo sa bansa kung saan bibigyan niya ng pantay na oportunidad ang lahat ng rehiyon upang umusbong ang kani-kanilang turismo.
Payayabungin ng administrasyon ni President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang lokal na turismo sa Pilipinas.
Ito ang pagtitiyak ni Frasco na aniya ito ang general vision ng Department of Tourism (DOT) sa ilalim ng PBBM administration.
Importante aniya na matutukan ang domestic tourism upang mabigyan din ng oportunidad ang mga maliliit na negosyo at local tourism establishments na muling bumangon.
Dagdag pa ni Frasco na kaniyang titiyakin na magiging inclusive ang kaniyang pamamahala sa DOT kung saan lahat ng rehiyon ay makatatanggap ng pantay-pantay na atensiyon at oportunidad.
“We have a general vision that is set by our President to revitalize the tourism industry, and to ensure that it is inclusive in that we spread development to the countryside. And this means giving focus to all regions in the Philippines, including Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to replicate best practices in tourism that have already been proven successful in the various regions, and to introduce innovations and digitalization where necessary,” pahayag ni Frasco.
Ayon pa kay Frasco na hindi lang nila nais na maibalik ang dating bilang ng mga turista na pumapasok sa bansa kundi ang makapag-harness pa ng mga potential markets na siyang magreresulta sa pagdami pa ng mga turistang bibisita sa bansa.
Samantala, pag-uusapan pa ng susunod na administrasyon kung anong mga plano at programa ng Duterte administration sa turismo ang kanilang ipagpapatuloy.
Ayon kay Frasco na iprepresenta nila ang mga ito kay President-elect Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. na siyang magtatakda ng direksyon ng DOT.
“At the moment we are still in the process of transition from the previous administration, to the incoming administration. All of the existing plans and programs of the current administration will be presented to President-elect Bongbong Marcos who will set the direction for the Department, aided by our plans and programs that we intend to bring in. A detailed discussion of what will be continued and what can be expected in the days to come will be had post the transition process, fully cognizant of the importance and the imminence of reviving and revitalizing the tourism industry,” ani Frasco.
