Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy writes message of empathy for Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte

PASTOR Apollo C. Quiboloy writes a message empathizing with the current situation of former President Roa Rodrigo Duterte.

He also enjoins the nation to pray for fear and love of God to reign supreme in the hearts of our nation’s leaders.

“To all my dear countrymen, mga Kababayan, and especially to our Former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and family,
Vice President Sara Duterte, Congressman Pulong Duterte, Mayor Baste Duterte, Kitty Duterte, and Honeylet Avanceña:

I deeply empathize with what you are experiencing now. I am horrified by the news of what transpired at Villamor Airbase, where Tatay Digong was reportedly held and coerced to fly to the Netherlands against his will to face a trial that the world knows is not necessarily legal.

I also sympathize with the anguish of his family, who were vastly outnumbered by a phalanx of uniformed police officers, accompanied only by two lawyers-Atty. Delgra and Atty. Medialdea-and ultimately separated from FPRRD.

Mga kababayan, it has not been long since KOJC endured a terrible ordeal on June 10 and August 24-September 8, 2024 during the 16-day siege of KOJC compounds. These events are shocking to the Filipino psyche because such actions are uncharacteristic of our culture. This lack of compassion, respect, honor, and dignity displayed by our law enforcers is profoundly un-Filipino.

As a former president, Tatay Digong pursued criminals to protect the Filipino people. Under his leadership, we experienced relative peace and order; the economy thrived; citizens felt secure; and law-abiding Filipinos were happy and grateful. Illegal drugs were curtailed, criminals and drug addicts lived in fear, and we could walk freely at any time of day or night.

It is utterly un-Filipino to treat him with disrespect and strip him and his family of their dignity. For God’s sake, he was the former president, and his daughter-the current vice president-is also being treated poorly.

Unlawfulness and illegality seem to dominate today’s landscape. I am praying for Divine Intervention to protect us not only from criminals but also from those in power who should be using their authority to safeguard the Filipino people instead of oppressing and persecuting them.

Let us all pray for peace, love, and compassion to reign in our beautiful land once more-a land where law-abiding and God-fearing citizens feel safe and protected by the authorities we elected into office.

We must pray for unity among our divided people and work to eradicate hate, jealousy, greed for money, and greed for power-the roots of all evil.

May the fear and love of God reign supreme in the hearts of our nation’s leaders.

God Almighty will save the Philippines. To God be the glory.”

Para sa Diyos at Pilipinas Nating Mahal.
