PCG and FF Cruz Shipping ink usufruct agreement at Mantaangan Port

THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and FF Cruz Shipping Corporation signed a Deed of Usufruct (DOU) Agreement at Mantaangan Port, Brgy. Mantaangan, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental, yesterday, 07 January 2025.

Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV) Commander, Commodore Ludovico Librilla Jr PCG and FF Cruz Shipping Corporation President, Mr Francis Frederic Cruz formalized the utilization of a 100-square-meter portion of lot 409 located at Brgy. Mantaangan, EB Magalona, Negros Occidental.

According to the CGDSV, this strategic location will serve as the site for a new Coast Guard Sub-Station, further strengthening the PCG’s capability to respond to maritime incidents, enforce laws, and safeguard lives and property at sea in nearby waters.

During the signing ceremony, both parties emphasized the importance of public-private collaboration in achieving mutual goals in ensuring safety and security for maritime operations and fostering the development of port facilities in the region.

“This collaboration underscores the CGDSV’s dedication to building strategic alliances with private stakeholders, marking a significant step toward bolstering maritime safety and security in the Negros Island Region,” the CGDSV furthered.

Also present during the signing ceremony were Assistant Station Commander Coast Guard Station Northern Negros Occidental (CGS NNOC) Ensign Jessa Pauline Villegas; FF Cruz Shipping Corporation, General Manager, Mr. Russel Baylen and Operations, Manager Mr. Elenito Galido.
