PCG appoints 2K additional personnel

THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, spearheaded the oath-taking ceremony of 2,000 PCG draftees at the Coast Guard Fleet Parade Ground, Pier 13, Port Area, Manila, today, 09 December 2024.

During his speech, Admiral Gavan congratulated and extended his gratitude to 1,698 male and 302 female PCG draftees who answered the call of public service.

The Coast Guard Commandant reminded them that taking their oath into the PCG service meant surrendering some of their rights and volunteering to take on higher responsibilities as public servants.

“Hindi sweldo, hindi uniporme, hindi prestige. Ang inyong panunumpa ay nangangahulugang kayo ay handa, na buo ang inyong loob at kaya ninyong i-sakripisyo ang inyong mga personal na interes upang paglingkuran ang Inang Bayan,” Admiral Gavan furthered.

The PCG draftees will be deployed to different PCG Districts and units to augment the Coast Guard workforce, while waiting for the schedule of their PCG training.

With these 2,000 additional personnel, the PCG now has a estimated workforce of 34,000 personnel as of December 2024.
