THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and Bantay Dagat have rescued 20 passengers on board a distressed motorbanca in the vicinity waters off between Macaboc Island, Bohol, and Talisay City, Cebu, on 10 November 2024.
After receiving the report, the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Talisay immediately conducted a joint search and rescue (SAR) operations with Bantay Dagat.
Investigation revealed that MBCA Miggy Boy departed Barangay Pooc, Talisay City, Cebu, going to Macaboc Island, Bohol, to conduct island hopping. It encountered engine trouble while underway, causing it to be dead on the water.
MBCA Megan towed the distressed motorbanca to the shoreline of Barangay Pooc, Talisay City, Cebu, for the safe disembarkation of the passengers who were all in good physical condition.
