PCG intensifies search for missing motorbanca in Quezon

THE Coast Guard Station (CGS) Northern Quezon has initiated a search and rescue operation for the Motorbanca Mike Denmark 3 with its three persons onboard, which was reported missing after being anchored and secured at the sheltering area in Barangay Calutcot, Burdeos, Quezon, on 27 May 2024.

CGS Northern Quezon received reports of the missing motorbanca and promptly informed the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Burdeos to initiate search and rescue efforts.

A composite team consisting of authorities in Burdeos from the Coast Guard, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction, Management Office, local police, and the Bureau of Fire Protection Burdeos has been deployed to confirm the veracity of the report.

According to local residents in the area, the motorbanca was boarded by three persons, including its caretaker. Additionally, said caretaker reportedly went onboard Motorbanca Mike Denmark 3 to inspect its condition during the onslaught of Typhoon Aghon before the incident occurred.

The PCG Northern Quezon has coordinated with its sub-stations and other local authorities to intensify efforts in locating the missing motorbanca.
