PCG-PPA K9 Academy turn-over ceremony  

THE PCG-PPA K9 Academy Training Facility after it was turned-over by Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) at Barangay Dolores, Mabalacat, Pampanga yesterday, 20 November 2024.

According to the Coast Guard K9 Force, the new training facility will be used to produce highly skilled trainees and working dogs.

“This initiative is designed to bolster the PCG’s capabilities by cultivating a cadre of expertly trained K9 personnel and working dogs to support diverse maritime security operations,” the CGK9 Force added.

“By expanding the task training program, the Coast Guard ensures that professional K9 handlers and highly trained working dogs will be readily available across more regions nationwide, enhancing their ability to assist in law enforcement, search and rescue missions, and paneling tasks,” the Force furthered.

Moreover, the CGK9 Force emphasized that the turnover of the training facility marks a significant step in fortifying the nation’s maritime security through well-trained and professional K9 handlers.

The PPA delegation was headed by General Manager Jay Daniel Santiago, while the PCG delegation was led by PCG Commandant, Admiral weRonnie Gil Gavan PCG; Commander, Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC), Vice Admiral Robert Patrimonio PCG; and Commander, CGK9 Force, Commodore Antonio Sontillanosa Jr.
