PDP Laban Press Statement: The PDP Laban strongly condemns QuadComm’s move recommending charges against FPRRD, allies

The PDP Laban strongly condemns the move of the House of Representatives QuadComm recommending the filing of charges against former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte (FPRRD), Senators Bato dela Rosa, Bong Go, among others, over the alleged crimes committed during the anti-drug war of the past administration.

This act by QuadComm is clearly politically motivated and with no clear legal and evidentiary basis since the testimonies gathered during the hearings were obtained under pressure or coercion, with the resource persons always threatened with contempt if they did not follow the script of QuadComm.

The QuadComm also conducted the hearings on the anti-drug campaign of the Duterte administration without due process and a strong anti-Duterte bias, obviously carried over from the hearings of another House committee attempting to pin down Vice President Sara Duterte on alleged fund misuse.

This clearly shows that the House of Representatives has launched a carefully planned, well-funded, but poorly executed demolition job against FPRRD and his allies ahead of the 2025 elections.

The PDP Laban questions the speed at which the recommendations of the QuadComm was arrived at, as its last hearing on the issue was less than a week ago. This clearly shows that the QuadComm had an inherent bias against FPRRD and his allies, and railroaded the process to coerce and threaten witnesses, including abusing its powers of contempt against “uncooperative” resource persons.

The Filipino people, however, has seen through the charade QuadComm has perpetrated and knows for themselves the success of the anti-drug war in their own communities. No amount of black propaganda or disinformation can ever change the unprecedented anti-crime legacy of the Duterte Administration.
