IN further showcasing the richness of the SOCCKSKARGEN’s sights, sounds, smell, and taste, the Philippine Experience Program (PEP) also featured the region’s vibrant coffee industry, through a coffee appreciation with coffee graders and cuppers from the Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) faculty.
Sultan Kudarat is only one of the provinces in Mindanao that stands out for its high quality coffee and local coffee culture.
According to 2021 data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), SOCCSKSARGEN has the widest area devoted to coffee production in the country, with 26,172 hectares dedicated to the crop, 78 percent or 20,327 hectares are in Sultan Kudarat.
