PH Marines bolster security in Zamboanga City’s coastal waters

TO enhance maritime security and ensure the safety of local communities, the Marine Battalion Landing Team-1 (MBLT-1) conducted a Maritime Security Patrol (MARSECPAT) on January 9, 2025, from Barangay Rio Hondo to Barangay Talon-Talon, Zamboanga City.

The patrol aimed to deter potential threats in the littoral waters. During the operation, MBLT-1 also conducted welfare and readiness checks on personnel stationed at the Sumatra, Layag-Layag, and Leha-Leha Naval Detachments to ensure combat readiness and address the needs of deployed personnel.

The Philippine Marines remain dedicated to protecting the country’s territorial integrity and maintaining peace and order in Zamboanga City’s coastal areas.
