PH Marines join tree planting in Maguindanao del Norte, supporting environmental sustainability efforts

PHILIPPINE Marines participates in tree planting initiative to promote environmental sustainability in Maguindanao del Norte

The 1st Marine Brigade, in partnership with MBLT-2, MBLT-5, Local Government Units (LGUs) of Maguindanao del Norte, law enforcement agencies (LEAs), the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRE), and other stakeholders, conducted a simultaneous tree planting activity on February 5, 2025 across multiple Barangays in Maguindanao del Norte.

The initiative took place in Salamat Hashim Residence, Brgy. Togaig (Barira); Sitio Milbang, Brgy. Kidama (Matanog); Sitio Lacoto, Brgy. Oring (Buldon); Brgy. Gadungan (Parang); Brgy. Macabiso (Sultan Mastura); and Marine Forward Operating Base, Brgy. Penansaran (Datu Blah Sinsuat).

This activity is part of the 1st Marine Brigade’s 50th Activation Day celebration, aimed at fostering environmental sustainability and enhancing community resilience. A total of 1,010 seedlings were planted, contributing to the fight against soil erosion, improving air quality, and supporting climate change mitigation efforts. This collaborative effort highlights the strong partnership between the Marines and local communities in working toward a sustainable future.
