PRIVATE Darwin Siwa PN(M) and Private Christopher Ginez PN(M) of the Philippine Marines Corps, both members of the 1st Marine Company, Marine Battalion Landing Team-1, currently assigned to Panampangan Detachment, immediately responded to an incident involving a 4-year-old boy who drowned on the beach of Panampangan Island, Sapa-Sapa, Tawi-Tawi, on April 11.
Upon arriving at the area, Pvt. Siwa immediately performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) after observing no signs of consciousness. After several repetitions of CPR, the child began to vomit and showed signs of consciousness and stability.
Furthermore, the Marines assisted the family in securing water transport to evacuate the child to the nearest medical facility at Brgy. Banaran RHU for further medical attention.
