ISANG araw matapos manumpa sa kanyang tungkulin ay nasa Pampanga ngayong araw si Pangulong Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos para pangunahan ang ika-75 anibersaryo ng Philippine Air Force.
Ito ang unang military visit ng bagong commander in-chief ngayong unang araw niya sa trabaho bilang ika-17 Pangulo ng bansa.
“First and foremost, I think it is only appropriate that one of the first, my first act as president is to join at this momentous 75th year anniversary of our very own the Philippine Air Force,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
Pinangunahan din ni President BBM ang awarding ceremony para sa mga natatanging Air Force personnel.
Magkakaroon sana ng flyby ng mga bagong air assets ng sandatahan ngunit hindi ito natuloy dahil sa masamang panahon.
Ang mga bagong air assets ay bahagi ng AFP Modernization Program ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Kaya sa kanyang talumpati, nangako si Pangulong Marcos ng mas pinalaki at pinalakas na Air Force.
“The ongoing Defense modernization effort is in coordination with the basic pre-requisite that would compliment this administration’s vision for a stronger, bigger and effective Air Force. Capable of defending and maintaining our sovereign state and of assisting our people in times of dark consequences and this reality that this dictates. A more modern aerial and surveillance capability is all the more felt given the territorial disputes that we in the Philippine are involved in,” ayon kay PBBM.
Giit ng Pangulo, gagawin ito ng kanyang administrasyon para ipagpatuloy ang magandang laban kontra insurhensiya at extremists group at ang paghahatid ng tulong sa panahon ng kalamidad.
“Transport aircraft, helicopters and the like are important facilities that only the Philippine Air Force in-suitably and sufficiently provide especially during humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operation,” ani Pangulong Marcos.
Dumalo naman si dating Pangulong Gloria Arroyo sa nasabing aktibidad maging si Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo.
Kabilang din sa dumalo si AFP Chief of Staff Andres Centino at Air Force Commanding General Connor Canlas.
