THE Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) was recognized by the Korean World Green Environmental Award Committee, yesterday, 20 January 2025.
PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, and Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Civil Relation Service, CG-7, Captain Lejanie Dy, received the Award of International Global Awareness and Impact Alliance (GAIA).
The KWCEAC recognized the PCG for its unwavering dedication to environmental preservation and its impactful contributions to combating climate change.
The Chairman of the World Green Environmental Award Committee and International Environmental Olympic Committee, Mr. Kwangyoung Park bestowed the said award.
Moreover, Chairman Kwangyoung Park expressed his sincere gratitude to the PCG Commandant for the meticulous planning and efforts during the event.
Also present during the event were Deputy Commandant for Operation, Rear Admiral Edgar Ybañez PCG; Acting Deputy Commandant for Administration PCG; Chief of Staff PCG, Rear Admiral Hostillo Arturo Cornelio PCG; Commander Coast Guard Relation Service (CGCRS), Commodore Teotimo Borja Jr PCG; Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for International Affars, CG-5, Commodore Algier Ricafrente PCG; and other PCG Officers.
