PROMINENT individuals, companies, and groups were recognized by the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City on Wednesday.
This coincides with the 5th National Convention of the Rank and File Employees of Public Attorney’s Office.
The Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence Committee selected the awardees, as said by PAO Chief Atty. Persida Acosta.
These awardees supported the aspiration and mission of PAO in providing free legal services and social justice, and among them was Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, who was recognized as an “Outstanding Civic Leader.”
Acosta described Pastor Apollo as an icon of democracy for his significant contributions, especially in promoting peace and the rule of law.
‘‘He is among those who inspire Filipinos to be patriotic and peace-loving here in our country. Despite all trials, like the pandemic, Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy is always there as an icon of democracy, peace, and rule of law,’’ according to Atty. Persida Acosta, Chief Public Attorney, Public Attorney’s Office.
Public Attorney’s Office awards SMNI News as ‘’Outstanding Broadcasting Network’’
PAO also recognized the SMNI News Channel as an Outstanding Broadcasting Network for its contribution to the field of journalism.
‘‘SMNI was chosen because wherever the Public Attorney’s Office is, SMNI is also there.’’
‘‘SMNI News serves as a medium to reach remote areas, those who live in coastal areas, mountains, and in the countryside, [SMNI] delivers what is truly happening and educates people about our laws because it is written “Ignorance of the law, excuses no one from compliance therewith.”
‘‘That’s why SMNI was the first to be awarded the award,’’ Atty. Acosta, stated.
