NAGLABAS ng advisory ang Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) laban sa requirement ng mga overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) na magsuot ng full personal protective equipments (PPEs) habang papaalis na ng bansa.
Ang naturang advisory ay bilang tugon sa direktiba ni Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Susan ‘Toots’ Ople na tigilan na ang requirement sa mga OFW na magsuot ng PPE sa paliparan.
Sa POEA Advisory Number 62 Series of 2022, pinaalalahanan ang mga recruitment agency na iwasang pasuutin ng PPEs ang mga OFW na patungo sa kanilang destination countries.
“The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) has not issued nor implemented rules and guidelines mandating the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), whether in Philippine airports or in the countries of destination,” saad ng POEA Advisorty #62 Series 2022.
Naniniwala ang DMW na sapat nang proteksyon para sa mga OFW ang pagpapabakuna laban sa COVID-19 na may kasamang booster shots at pagsusuot ng face mask.
Para kay Ople, OA na masyado ang pagsusuot ng PPE ng mga OFW dahil hindi na ito nire-require ng ibang bansa kagaya ng Taiwan at USA.
