Resident in an exclusive village assaulted by Makati police for alleged violation of ECQ protocol

MAKATI police try to arrest a foreign resident of an exclusive village for violating the policy of the existing enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR).

The resident was identified as Javier Salvador Parra.

Chief Rogelio Simon said his staff had accosted the foreigner’s helper for not wearing a face mask while watering the lawn outside the house.

He said the helper was on the premises of their house so no quarantine rules were violated.

“I am shocked that Makati police has entered my private lawn and property to arrest me because my staff Cherelyn watered the plants on my property without wearing face mask,” Parra said in his Facebook post.

The Makati Police are also preparing to appeal the case against the foreign resident of the said subdivision for non-compliance with ECQ guidelines where everyone is required to wear a face mask in the public and common areas signed by Makati Mayor Abby Binay.
