THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has confirmed that certain protocols for workers who are set to return to work are to be implemented in the wake of the opening of several industries in areas under the modified enhanced quarantine community starting May 16.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said the safety and health standards in the workplace should be set up to protect workers from contamination.
Bello assured that returning Filipino workers before entering the workplace would have to take the temperature, put on a face mask, and have a disinfectant and soap.
In this regard, the Department of Health (DOH) has announced that minimum health standards need to be implemented in the workplace.
DOH spokesperson Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the agency has outlined a return to work policy in which employers are told to have screening for symptoms.
Vergeire added that when employees return to work, they will have a screening process and see if they have any symptoms to isolate and test.
