Russia denies role in Eiffel tower coffin stunt

RUSSIA’s embassy in France protested in what it described as a Russophobic campaign launched by media platforms in France.

The new round of tensions took place after French intelligence officials accused Russia as the mastermind behind a stunt that saw five coffins covered in a French flag and bearing the inscription “French soldiers of Ukraine.”

The controversial incident took place near Eiffel Tower on Saturday.

Police detained a Bulgarian driver who claimed he had been paid 40 euros by his two other companions – a Ukrainian and a German – to transport the coffins.

Russia denied it was behind the anti-Ukraine stunt and accused France of initiating a Russophobic campaign.
