PRESIDENT Vladimir Putin hailed 2023 as a special year for Russian relations with Africa during a joint press conference with Algerian President Abdelmadjud Tebboune.
Putin said and quote our contacts with African countries are more intensive than ever and the president’s visit clearly shows it.
“Our contacts with African countries are more intensive than ever and the [Algerian] president’s visit clearly shows it,” said Pres. Vladimir Putin, Russian Federation.
Putin said he will continue talks with the Algerian president at the 26th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum which started on Wednesday.
Both leaders talked about efforts to expand transactions in national currencies in order to shield mutual trade from the impact of third countries ad adverse developments on international foreign exchange markets.
According to Russia’s top leader, Moscow is increasing its quote for state-subsidized university admissions of Algerian nationals by 30 percent.
So far, some 20,000 Algerian nationals have received an education at Russian universities and 1,500 are currently studying in Russia.
