SAILORS and Marines in Northern Luzon responds to typhoon Pepito’s impact with coordinated relief efforts.

As Typhoon Pepito moves west-northwestward, Signal No. 4 remains in effect for Central and Northern Luzon. After making landfall near Catanduanes on November 16, it brought heavy rain and strong winds to Central Luzon, La Union, and Pangasinan before exiting mainland Luzon near San Fernando, La Union.

The Naval Forces Northern Luzon, in coordination with the 4th Marine Brigade, conducted pre-emptive evacuations and mobilized resources for relief efforts. This included personnel and equipment to support evacuations in Ilocos Norte and the distribution of food packs in Cagayan Valley. SRR teams also assisted in transporting supplies and evacuating affected residents in San Fernando, La Union, and other impacted areas.

As the SRR sub-cluster lead for RDRRMC1, NFNL has deployed 85 SRR teams, fully equipped and on standby across Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and Batanes. These teams collaborate with Local Government Units (LGUs) and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Offices (DRRMOs) to ensure a quick and effective response.
