DELEGATION from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has begun the evaluation of the Philippines’ system of maritime education, training, and certification compliance with the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW).
In a statement Tuesday, the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) said the visit, which began on April 29, 2024 and will end on May 3, 2024 aligns with the implementation of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by the two countries towards the recognition of seafarer’s certificates.
